about calumet welding center
Study Alongside Welding Professionals & Experts
Calumet Welding Center was built in 2009 onsite with our parent company Calumet Testing Services (CTS). As the local welding inspection and certification facility, CTS was able to anticipate an upcoming demand for competitive local welders able to enter the job market quickly.
Our students have an unprecedented advantage of working alongside professional instructors, industry experts and seasoned welders. By integrating ourselves into a variety of parts on the welding industry, we keep our staff and students up-to-date with important information on local projects, jobs, and needs in a fast changing market.
Our Training Difference
Our secret to Success is MORE WELD TIME! The only way to master welding is through practice. We’ve worked to eliminated distractions, so our students are able to utilize 2x-3x more practice time.
- 80% Weld Practice Time| 20% Classroom Training.
- One Student Per Booth.
- Student to teacher ratio (1:9).
- Weld Demonstrations.
- Precut practice pieces.
- High quality UAS ventilation system to remove welding fumes.
We also prioritize employable Soft skills. Employers express that punctuality and attendance, following directions, and working under pressure are just as important as welding skills.
